    Hello

If you don't change them I would measure the legs and just bring the wires out to an external board to you can set up fixed or stepped attenuation using soldered resistors. Any pot is going to get noisy with time. If you don't really use them, set and forget, that's your best bet sound quality wise.

The choice among different L pads and rheostats isn't that big in the market, as they're all of the same WW type - which isn't bad at all. Encapsulated WW potentiometers are beefy and not prone to drift or to degradate that much.

As said before, an option might be to set them to your taste, remove them from the speakers without altering the settings, measure them and replace them by fixed resistors of exactly the values that you measured before.

    Best regards!
