Too much pandemic home office with too loud music can definitely kill also speakers.
One of the 18-inch coils is blown.

I still have four chassis lying around here which I would like to recone.
    The big question:
Where can I get recone kits that comes closest to the original?
I do not really want the Chinese aftermarket parts.

Guido mentioned a few days ago that I should ask for them here.
    Does anyone knows this source?

I would like to refresh the one which is broken and also the four in stock.
    Thank you in advance.

    Cheers
    Ralf

Bummer! Too bad you didn't blow the woofer a few years ago when JBL still supported their products. There are several people working on repair scenarios, but I am not sure a true replacement key has been found. Hopefully someone can pop in with some useful info.

Good luck and please keep us posted.

IIRC Seņor Edgewound had a 2245H solution at one point. Perhaps still?

    Hi Widget,

it's been a long time, but I remember your comments very well. Always helpful.
In this case, I know it will be difficult.

I haven't done that yet, but I would change just the one coil, if there is no other way. The rest of the woofer is still ok.
But I have also no coil which is fitting for the 2245H...

I have already thought about winding a coil myself.
Has anyone ever done that before?

    Hi grumpy,

thank you, I just sent him a PM.

Hopefully there is still a solution.

The sound of the four 2245H in combination with the 4430 and the rest of the electronic parts are hard to beat.
I definitely want it back in 100% working condition.

It is hard to believe that JBL does not want to preserve these treasures...
