Tad 2002 vs pioneer exclusive s5

Hi, apparently tad had used 2002 in pioneer exclusive s5, and these do not have the familiar TAD label on the back.

Is this correct, and is there a sonic difference between the two?

The driver in that link looks more like a 2001.

Someone was offering it to me as 2002, hence the question.

The 2002 was not developed until years after that Pioneer Exclusive Series had ended production.

it is not Td-2001 the diaphragm are bolted with only three bolts
the core look´s more like Td-2002 but the diaphragm look´s different?

I don´t know how to post pictures, but if you google Td-2002 the you can see how the Td-2002 diaphragm look´s like

However, like the TAD TD-4003, the TD-2002 uses proprietary compression fittings for the wiring connections. This driver uses a more traditional connection.

I have no idea what the specifics of this driver are, but they do appear to be TAD/Pioneer beryllium diaphragms and are probably very good drivers assuming they are operating to spec in original condition.

Personally, I'd be concerned about their condition since the diaphragms have been removed. Most HF compression drivers are very sensitive to how the diaphragms are installed.

The connectors are very similar to banana plugs. They penetrate the outer casing and plug directly into the diaphragm frame. On the diaphragm that you are showing pictures of, there are wire leads that go to some form of external connector.

Well, they are made by the same company… But they are not the same driver.
