    Typically, JBL uses 100v DC capacitors.

    Now, don't ask me about the sonic differences in caps between , 100v , 250v, 400v, & 600v, because I just haven't had the time or money for such exploration .

    Hi Mathias,

    Would it be an option for you just to buy a complete crossover. They are available directly from JBL, partsno 311911-001 costing under €100 at the current exangerate.

    Hello

    i bought monday the me120hs woofer by my german jbl dealer
    the price for the grill in europe are 250euros
    and the crossover are about 150euros
    2426h are not for sale in germany
    but i will ask a P.A. JBL Dealer

    now ive listed the parts for the crossover
    with 400v dc caps fron "Intertechnik"
    it will be about 100euros the whole crossover
    with very good caps and coils
    i think if the caps have 100v dc
    the crossover will be much cheeper !!

    can you say me the diameter of the wire used in the 4 coils
    is the L1 2,2mh and the L3 2,4mh a special coil ?
    because there is a line in the schematic !
    which resistance have the difference coils ?

    S2600, coils DCR ?

    Hi

    Sorry, I don't know the DCR ( resistance ) of the stock coils ( inductors ).

    - Reading the schematic; If there's a "line" through the coil symbol , it indicates a "ferrite" core type of coil. You can always use "air-core" types at a greater expense.

    Keep the DCR of L1 ( 2.2mh ) to a very low value. Either a 14ga or 12ga wire , "air-core" should be in the right "ball-park" .

    L2 ( 1.7mh ) is part of a LCR notch-filter. The overall value of "R" is likely in the range of 6 to 8 ohms. You won't be able to find a "specialty" coil like this, so, that means buying the "highest" value DCR that you can find and then adding a resistor to the LCR circuit to make up the difference . You are going to have to "play" with resistor values to get the best ( your preference ) notch .

    L3 ( 2.4mh ) similar comments to the L1 type

    L4 ( .16mh ) I'd try 18ga to 22ga air-cores here and be prepared to alter the values of R5 and R6 to compensate for changes in the total resistance .

    14ga ?

    is this the diameter of the wire ?

    for example in germany from 0,1millimeter to 3 millimeters for example

    the L2

    i didnt find some suitable coil because
    the L2 1,8mh im my list has no resistance
    where can i buy such a coil with a high resistance of 6-8 ohms ?

    i found coiöls with hi resistance but there no available in 1,7 or 1,8 mh ?

    Wire Gauge Conversion

    Hi

    20 awg (ga) = .80 mm Ø ( diameter )
    18 awg = 1.02 mm Ø
    16 awg = 1.29 mm Ø
    14 awg = 1.63 mm Ø
    12 awg = 2.05 mm Ø
    10 awg = 2.59 mm Ø

    - You probably can't.
    - Just buy the highest resistance available to you and then add different series resistors to alter the "Q" of the notch .

    Yes, that's what I meant .

    can i use a 2,7 for L3 because 2,4 are not available ?
    2.4 mh is a standard value in the "Solen" catalogue .
    2.5 mh is a standard value for "ERSE" coils from "Parts-Express ( USA ) .

    - I think you need to check offerings from other parts-suppliers .

    - You can always create a 2.4 from a 2.7mh air-core, by unwinding some of the wire. You need a way to measure "inductance".

    - Some parts sellers will "custom" wind to specific values, for an additional fee .

    - I wouldn't use a 2.7mh in place of a 2.4mh without exhausting all the other solutions first. Off-hand, I can't tell you the effect of that larger coil (2.7mh ) , except it will lower the Fc ( crossover-point ) of the second pole in that "Hi-pass" area of the crossover. How much lower? I won't speculate .
