Amazing how little power it takes to get them running isn't it. Many moons ago,I built some Altecs very similar to yours, except I used the 411 LF. I received a lot of Noisy Neighbor complaints.

Beautiful speakers, I always loved the Flaminco.
Take a look at this thread, I built one years ago and was the best thing for the midrange bump. Running some Eq will gather the same result.

So everyone states they are super efficient.... I agree... The info that was stated on a brochure said these have the A7 components... So when I looked into those speakers can handle 200 watts... Thankfully I’m 45 and the hand is respectful with the volume control... I use a Parasound pld 1100 preamp and Parasound HCA 2200 MK2 with John Curl mods. 250 a side... I’ve just walked into these speakers meaning no DAC proper source and what I listen to sounds fantastic... 4 years they were in storage with no clue....
Has anyone used stands for these if so please share...
Anytime you raise a speaker from the floor, your going to change the bass characteristics. This may not be a bad thing. The best thing is to get the horn to at least ear level. There is a lot of criticism about the Altec 811 horns, some of which is "horn shout". (This can be easily fixed, see about the 30923 EQ device). If you get the horn at or above ear level, you'll be amazed at the "stereo spread" and the depth of field you'll hear, especially on classical music.
I'd recommend 10 to 12 inches.

Greetings Greek from Hood Canal
I.m curious if you raised your Altecs and your impression of them at a new listening height.

Raised the front of both speakers 3 inches.. Kinda like they do the Klipsch Heresy the difference is amazing...
Hi Greek, I'd raise it until the center of the horn is about 35 to 37 inches from the floor. So maybe build a plinth if 10 to 12 inches. If there are decor and WAF considerations I truly understand. You should still find yourself the 30923/30904
Attenuator EQ circuit. The 23 has a Zobel circuit for the 411 which maybe wrong for the 416. You can always undo it if you don't like it.
Let us know what you do and if it works for you

See post #2. Its basically the same circuit but with attenuation.
