    Dear members!

Can someone help me how to "polish" the frame for scratches?

If you want to keep those cool looking 075s, and even be able to see them, while vastly improving their performance, I may still have a set of clear acrylic slant plates. You need 4" of space to either side of the tweeter's centerline.

I re-brush these when I re-cone them. I forget what grit and will
    come back with it.

From the picture it looks very light. Maybe a small stainless steel “scratch” brush could blend it. ?

    Barry.
If we knew what the hell we were doing, we wouldn't call it research would we.

$120/pr + $8 shipping in continental US. No other place in the world to find these as they are totally unique.

    Hi Todd,

    Cool,

    They look the part.

Why not place them in the market place ? You might get demand from elsewhere.

Does the kit include information on an optimised crossover network?

I have heard the native 075’s in 43XX monitors and it’s wasn’t comparable to the 2405. The thing is some global regions prefer the 075 due to different listening preferences.

Most people here know I make/have them and there is really not enough $$$ in them to make a go of marketing, though I do ocasionally post them on the bay as well as my Heil stands. I did send the links, pics, and write-up to Nelson Pass and he was very impressed and wished me well in them.

At this point, I think I have the makings for complete set with slant plates and bases for a couple more sets. I may need to make a few of the diagnols to complete the other sets though.

I think the sound of the 075 with the slant plate assembly may be better than the 077s, though they won't go quite as high, and if I had developed these before getting rid of my 075 (for 2405s), I probably would have kept the 075s.

Send a pair to Kenji @ KenRick Sound

I or someone could do some off axis measurements with REW and you have yourself a nice aftermarket accessory for $150 a pair in Cute Shoe box

Kendrick Sound would get a pair, test them, love them, and knock them off.

    You’ve published the idea already!

I personally think it would be an improvement on any blue baffle system with retro fitted 075’s based my experience. 😱.

Did you demo them to me last Jan? My memory is vague. I think heard your big monitors and the Heils.

Sure they are out there for all to see. But to get the specs right is another thing more easily accomplished through direct measurement of an existing piece.

I don't think I demoed these. I only have the one 075 at this point. At least it is still original.

BTW, the slant plates work even better (more dramatic changes) when using an N2400 crossover.

The big monitors with the Heils (Ethyl Mermans) have undergone several crossover changes since you heard them, and they now sing more sweetly than ever.

And, if you recall the Altec Super Big Reds were powered by a Yamaha DSP-A1 for the preamp/horns and a Soundcraftsman 300x4 for the four woofers..., and the Soundcraftman had a ground loop hum. This has now all been replaced with vintage Marantz equipment with an 1180DC for the preamp/horns and a pair of 170DCs for the four woofers (and a Marantz 2130 tuner), and no ground loops. Very sweet!

You know that you are always welcome to stay here if you visit the area.

    Thanks Barry
    It will be great.
Do the surface need some kind of coating after brush ?
