Looks like Harman’s packaging engineers are still coming up short.

Luckily that beast is built like a tank, so I’m sure it survived. Looking forward to your review.

I realize not everyone has suffered from the decades-long Sit-and-Sleep advert/commercial barrage...

Do you guys know the port tuning of the Sub18 enclosure?
I think at it would be around 22 - 25Hz?

    Hi Scott;

Thank you for the files. We are smashed at work so it’s late nights but I should get it loaded over the weekend.

For now it is right next to one of the 4365’s with a 6dB low pass at 51Hz. This would identify itself if it was somewhere remote in the room but as is without trying it has -23 degrees phase difference at 50Hz and only -58 degrees difference at 200Hz so the summation is really good.

I like this thing. Gonna have to buy another.

    Barry.

No problem Barry, you sub 18 owners really have me looking into the 2269’s.

Also I have not found a tech manual for the sub 18 yet, I will be calling them up to see if one exists.

    Thanks,
    Scott

Heads up...the price of the 2269H as a service part was recently reduced in price (significantly) so anyone thinking of doing a SUB18 clone or their own creation(s), it is probably worth getting a requote from their favorite JBL supplier.

Wow! Those should blow you right out of the water!!

Very cool and I for one would love to hear about them. The box looks to be the same size as the 4719’s that I have. I tend to like the tuning of the theater subs so I bet I would love those!

As for me I have been out of town on weekends and juggling a construction project at home that has displaced a ton of stuff both inside and out so the SUB18 remains in it’s box at the shop. I hope this wraps up by months end so I can get back to normal in November.

    No stairs Rob.

I’m dying to try this thing!!

    For those interested in 5628 (or 2269), here’s a killer deal: https://www.fullcompass.com/prod/566...nema-subwoofer
