What's the difference between Blue and black version of compress driver?

    hi, everybody,

There are blue and black version of some JBL compress driver. e.g. LE85, LE175. Who knows the difference between the different version? Which version sounds better?

    Thanks in advance,

The difference is the color of paint!

    No, really... that's it.

They used the blue paint for about one or two years around 1962. It was not used on the full line of products, but it was used on LE15s, LE15As, LX5s, LE175s, LE85s, H91s, and probably a few other models, but those are the ones I've seen.

I have owned many of them and also their black or gray counterparts... there is no difference in sound. It was a nice color though.
