Poorly made JBL,not for HiFi,maybe just for HT,S series and E series are just the same.but perhaps these are the main JBL products for profits.

    After audition,
    Audio weak, top to bottom.
    Construction not bad.
They have stood the test of time,
    Party boxes
    Yard Sale.

Much better off with an "L-series" 10 or 12 incher. Good deals are still possible.

    ie: L-26,36,88,96,100,166 ..etc.

    Passed 38's on to Grandchild.

    Like wife's 38's WAY more

Still working on L15 and 4406 projects.

After selling my 2 pairs of L-166's, I've come to the conclusion:

Never sell a good working L-166 pair, take em to the grave with you *

Yesterday I picked up another L-15 pair.
If you need 035Ti's , I have a pair to sell.

*120Ti's are the very best of the 3 way, 12 incher bookshelves, even better than the Horizons. IMHO (excepting the $5K Century Golds & maybe the new L-100's ??)

    Happy 4th. Friend

Yes would be interested in 035's.
    035 out of L15's ?? I need for 4406's.
Should find out about lost ones by tomorrow.
    Get back.

Horizons where VERY nice. 9.8+W/stands, Won local auction $500, Doctor would only buy
McIntosh MC2100 Amp, C24 Pre and MR71 tube tuner, WITH L166's as part of package !!!
    So off they went.
Drove to Ky. to pick up McIntosh Set.
25 years in closet, from another Dr.s son purchased in Cali. in 67/68.
    55 hours of detailing,Nice rig !!
Should have never demoed with those speakers.
    Sticking to smaller box's now.

I wouldn't mess with a pair of N38, but the S38II was a pretty damn good bookshelf speaker. I little shrill when pushed, but they can take gobs of power and work best with a sub.
