    My JBL 4344 DIY Project!

    Hello friends,

I am building a DIY 4344. There are two issues I cannot find an accurate info. I would really appreciate your help.

1- I am using the 2123H midbass. But I cannot find the chamber volume the JBL has built in the 4344 MKII (which uses the same driver). What is the internal volume of the sub-chamber?

2- I am using dual bass ports (using 4" ID PVC counduits). I don't know the exact length of the port (must be something between 11" to 12"). What is the exact length?

I am using the 2235H woofer. The internal volume must be 5.5 cubic ft. Is that right?

    Thanks in advance.
    Thomas

    Hi,

I don't think the internal volume for sub-enclosure housing the 2123H ( within the 4344mkii ) was ever specifically revealed ( though 4313B used that mid in a 4345 creation of his ).

If you do a site search ( using 4313B as the author + "subenclosure" as the key search word ) you might just find somewhere that he ( Giskard/4313B ) stated that JBL used .5cu' for all subenclosures holding 10" mids ).

I looked around, but couldn't find this phantom reference ( though I know its embedded somewhere within this forum ).

Giskard has fled the building ( and G.T. the senior designer doesn't post here anymore > apparently ).

That spec is also in the pro enclosure guide for 2118 and 2123.

    Good morning guys!

Thanks for the replies. I was away for work and had a minor hand injury... So I will build the midbass chamber (0.5 cubic ft).
I will then brace the cabinet to reach the 5.6 cubic ft for the woofer.

The only thing remaining is the length of the bass ports!

I also wanted to thank Ian Mackenzie and Christo, for their helps and info (on email).
