    Glueing Velcro?

What type of glue does anyone use to attach velcro to plastic and painted wood. My velcro barely has enough adhesion to hold itself on, nevermind holding on a lens.

Contact Cement such as 3M works well. You apply the cement to both surfaces, let it dry and then press in place. It helps if you rough-up the surface with course sand paper first.

I've use Contact Cement in the past but it does dry up and fail after a number of years. Go to Home Depot and get some thing like "VELCRO Velcro Extreme" I've used these type of product in the past to mount Headboards on walls and never had an issue. In fact when I went to remove the headboard after about 10 years the tape ripped off the top layer of the drywall.

Contact cement has been used for kitchen countertops since at least the 1950's. My mothers house has the original formica countertops that were built in 1954 and there are no signs of failure.
