Fucking Hell. When MySpace was dwarfed by Facebook it survived as a prime outlet for good and great musicians not tied to the crap pop hit structure to get their music out there. Most of the artists I like, in other words. I had noticed the outage but I never imagined it was anything like this catastrophe.

50 million tracks by 14 million artists, everything over three years old. They are not missing, they are gone. Many lost for good because the site has been used to archive vast amounts of content.
