Anyone knows this type of Altec's ?
I read on the crossover "604-8G." Unless the the driver has been changed out that is its model number also. Sometimes said to be the best of the Altec coaxials. Can't really tell from the photo, but the enclosure may be an adaptation of the Stonehenge III for horizontal installation. If so, unless soffit mounted, bass output will drop off below 50Hz. In 9 cubic feet bass will be good to 30Hz. Using the stock crossover some listeners find the peaky upper midrange unacceptable. Jeff Markwardt has drawn a revision which many prefer. Efficiency is about 100dB, 1 watt at one meter, so it is often driven with small amps such as SET's. I liked them with 60-watt 6550 amps or McIntosh MC2200 used with care.
