Sign Language Interpreters and live music

When I first saw the Snoop concert video last year I was knocked out. Of all the attempts to share a live music experience with the deaf, I like this sort the best. You don't have to feel left out at an energetic, vocal-based concert. It is as good as the talent and work behind it. (I don't expect anyone here to like the music, but that's not the point.) When the interpreters are this talented they SHOULD be on stage with the band.

    More Then Words

You may have noticed that there is lot of signing going on while there is no singing. Here is how they are actually signing music.

As a former military interpreter , I also did a small amount of translating too. I am gratified that
you know the difference between interpreting & translation.

IMHO: interpreting in real time is MUCH more difficult.

Most of the media and general public use the 2 terms interchangeably . They are NOT the same.
This has been one of my pet peeves, but it's a losing battle as the misuse is so widespread. So
I am now trying to train myself to ignore this. Not always easy.
