2226, 2035...? It's advertised locally in an EV cabinet, but I don't recall ever seeing a 15" EV driver that looks like this. Simply counting the rings in the surround and the ridges in the cone it matches a JBL...but can't be sure.

    Greetings -

IMHO, no. The dome has a flange on it. I have never seen a JBL dome, either paper or aluminum, to have a flange. Also, the ribs lack definition. The cone and dome are a bit faded in shade. Not typical JBL quality. You should also see a bead of Bostick around the perimeter of the dome. This one has none. Also, the mounting holes in the gasket partially cover the holes in the basket.

As E-V baskets are deeper, the cones would also be deeper than JBL cones.

The seller should provide photos of the basket.

Or perhaps it is a JBL basket with an after market cone kit.

    Caveat emptor.

See if you can get him to stick a cell phone in a port and get a pic of the back. Looks seriously sunburned huh?

My guess is that those are JBL 2035h frames sporting aftermarket recone kits.

Obviously the proof is on the seller to provide more info.

Well the only way to tell is to get a good look at the back of the driver. They don't look line it though not with the a coil cap with flanges unless they are recones. With that type surround there wound be no need to replace the cap. Looks like a cinema box of some sort. On a 2035 have 3" coils and the VC leads are under the VC cap on a stock cone.

Looks like an old Pioneer woofer to me, but as everyone has said, a rear view would be very helpful.

The driver names or model numbers coming out of the hat all seem to make sense initially.

However, upon closer look at pictures of some, they reveal:

2035H: white cone, black dustcap, cloth surround

Pioneer HPM-150/1500 (1500 in Europe, vintage-speaker-review.com): foam or rubber surround, white cone, black dustcap.

So this could be a "Frankenstein" driver with regards to dustcap and/or surround.

Seems the closest thing may be a 2035H but with a white dustcap? Or a Pioneer that was modified with a cloth surround and white dustcap?

Finally, there's a guy on Ebay (ebay.com.sg/itm/pioneer-hpm-150....) selling some which look pretty similar to these, except his have black dustcaps and some pretty bad black glue lines around the caps. So maybe another "Frankenstein" driver...

Just ask the seller to put his mobile through the port with a selfy stick and get a pic of the woofers rear view
