Smile Look At my Little JBL B460 Sub

Well it has been a few years since i adopted this sub. I have just now pulled it out of storage.Hoping to fire it up in the new year and see what it can do to bring me to nirvana. If any one is interested i will also try to provide measurements and specs for anyone that cares to know in the new year.

A true beauty. I have one myeslf, but my main speakers are very small, and even using them as loud as they can go, the B460 woofer is almost not moving. I need new main speakers, but also need cash to buy...

Well look at that!! Been a long time since I've seen a 460. Brings back fond memories of booze induced comas with my L112's and a friends 460 with Hafler 500's running the show. Look at those cuties on top. Is that the old Marantz EQ? Saucy Meatballs!!!

    John,

I love Cary amps, I tried a Cary 35+35 a while ago on my JBLs, did not want to give it back to my friend.

I'll bet your system sounds very musical.

Here is a picture of my B460. The amplifier on top, a Nakamichi PA5E II is driving the main speakers.

This beast is for the sub. A Adyton XP3d bridged. Dont mind the huge damage of the back of the cupboard, it dont show because there is a door to the cupboard that is closed. Well, here is the amp:

Any amp driving a B460 gonna require adequate ventilation.

Not sure setting nice tube amps on top of B460 is a good idea, tho. Induced microphonics.

How 'bout this instead, heh, heh:

    Thumbs up

My amp is not a tube amp. The big vent holes is there because a very powerful fan is cooling it down.
I would really love having those 4425`s of yours

Oh, I belive I misunderstood your posting at first.

Well, I was pretty upset when I came home with my new purchased amp, finding out it did not fit into the cupboard. And did not have time to do a proper job by using tools to make a nice hole. Solid fist power did the job, and the amp could get in and start working with the 2245H in the huge cabinet.

    Tube Amp

Hi guys about the cary tube amp + marantz they just happen to be sitting there when i snapped the picture, the marantz is a back up amp and the cary is waiting to be part of my bi-amp setup when i get around to constructing my 4350 clones. I will be going with bryston for the bottom end of my system.
I might find that i do not even need the B460 when i get my twin 2235,s pumping out of the 4350,s.
