It looks like JBL has decided to sell several models of studio monitor here in the US, models that were previously only sold in Europe and Japan. Beating the cost of new product development? I'm interested in the 4306.

I've got a pair of them. Once set up well, they have the "fullness" of a floor standing speaker. Very good and articulate bass as well.

Thanks for that. Looks like they are 1500 for a pair at Music Direct. But they are back ordered. Still, way cheaper than buying through Japan. I'm thinking about it.
