Very unusual mic applied almost IN THE trumpet mouth.....I am not familiar with the recording procedure but I have not seen before such "microphone treatment"

I see these all the time at live shows, Not the exact same one but all in the bell or at the edge

It's a miniature condenser mic, SOP when the horn player needs to be wireless. The 'preferred' mics for horns are far too large and heavy for the player to attach to the horn bell.
