    Port tube availability ?

I was wondering if the port tubes for a set of 4311b's were still available retail through JBL? And isn't there a tube behind either the tweeter or midrange as well? My memory is fading! Anyway, same question as above for that tube also. I have the drivers, am missing ports and need to make some cabinets to get these things in use again. I looked on the web site, but might have missed it as I didn;t see anything. Thanks

Neither the port tubes nor the subenclosures have been available through JBL. You can find the port tubes on eBay.

The subenclosures can be made from 5" or 6" diameter tubes so that the internal volume is ~ 80 cubic inches.

JBL often used the following dimensions for their subenclosures:

    5-5/16" internal diameter x 3-1/4" depth
    5-11/16" outside diameter x 3-5/8" depth
recessed into 3/4" thick baffle by 3/8"

    Yea, buzzmar -

I don't know where you're located, but if you're needing some lengths of that 6" tube, I've got ample left from prior DIY projects. Lemme know...

    that stinks

Any good ideas on a good substitution? Are the L100 tubes (or any others) and the 4311b tubes the same. I am trying to match my other set of 4311b's as closely as possible

    Thanks

    Ok, I lied.

JBL appears to have some left and is willing to sell them regardless of the "Not for Sale" notice.

Have your favorite Authorized JBL Service Center order you a pair.

    Part number is 52211.

That parts list is a fun perusal. They've got labels for 4345's, and grilles for 4313's, as I recall.

OH, and 4430 crossovers for $565. [Must be runnin' out of them....]

Oddly, the 4435 ones are only $313.

Zilch, I meant to tell you via e-mail, but those crossovers have been NLA for quite some time. A great deal of the "vintage" parts listed are NLA and they still update the prices and keep them listed. See my post above.

    In Triplicate...

    (ie, ditto again )

It's either that, or left-over cardboard Sonotube/packing tubes... pretty much interchangable, to my purposes.

    Gordon.

well, does anyone know what the dimensions of said port and subenclosure for the midrange driver should be? There is a pair of ports from an L-65 Jubal on ebay, are those the same size? anyone have a parts list for the Jubals to check?

    thanks

The L65 ports are the same. Buy them.

I already posted the dimensions of the subenclosure above.

I'm working in the storage businnes. My company build the "future DC" (Distribution Center) for Walgreens.

So I'm shocked about JBL's way to handle the parts storage. There must be hundreds of storage workers running around to pick all the parts they need to run their daily production. Not to think about the spare parts service

I always dream to check out the JBL Warehouse and every piece I find which is not registrated in their computers is MINE.
