    JBL 2309 horn

    Does anyone use the 2309 horn without the lenses? I really like the detail of my 2445 driver without the lenses, but the sweet spot become so small and the speakers (jbl 4530) sound more like just good PA ones ... With the lenses the sound flows around the room, they are much smoother but they dont have the spark i want in mids .

    If you have the facilities to fabricate, maybe you could experiment with a less aggressive lense. Something shallower without all the folds, like a larger 2308?

    what if i was going from 2" driver to 1" with some of the classic horns for it? im crossing the horn around 800 so i believe a 1" driver can easy handle this freq. But the time alignment goes way off after...
