    2206 and 4312's

I have a set of 4312's, and one of the 2213H's is blown. Since I also have an extra set of 22056H, I thought I might just pop them into the 4312 to provide a bass driver until I have the 2213H fixed. That said, the JBL polarity convention says the 4312's are positive and the 2206's are negative (just love JBL on this.
My question is easy, can I just reverse the input signal to the woofer to deliver the correct polarity to the 2206 while it sits in the 4312? Does anyone have a guess what a 2206 in place of a 2213H will sound like?

    no bass

the 4312 is a *system* while the 2206 is a *component* so the polarity comparison is apples to oranges.

Both 12" have the same polarity but very different T/S parameters and with the minimal xover the 4312 has, you will hear many changes, not all desirable.

This has been discussed before - try doing a search.

    and I knew...

someone would say just that. Probably a better fit are the two 128H's I have laying around that go into L100T's. I know I know, the specs are different from them too. However, given that I dont have a 2213H yet, maybe the 128H's a better fit than two control monitors, with a hole where the 2213H goes?

And I'm big on doing search, just that I dodnt have a lot of time to kill today, and I thought soemone might pop back and say...that would sound terrible, bad thought. Hence the 128H's.

I have used both woofers in Hi-Fi applications. Frankly, the 2213s surprises me every time I turn them on. I just love them.

My 2206s are used with compression drivers. They are no sloch either, but the vintage drivers perform very well and are a stand-out performer . I never thought of using a 2206 in a 4312, however.

    Hmmm.

I think I have an extra recone kit for a 2213, and are you interested?
