    Lucky to find them complete

I even got the brackets so thats a cool thing. I've NEVER owned a large format JBL driver before and this is a dream come true! I want to set them up on top of my L222's and L220's and find the proper JBl electronic crossover, I can only find info that says 800hz but I wonder if 500hz is possible without damage or other problems?

    Overkill for sure!

I'm a overkill kinda guy and this is a once in a lifetime deal so as you can see from my avatar, they will sit on top of those two pairs of already horn loaded pairs. I will tweak on the set up a bit and find out how to make it work. thank you for the nice comments and ultra valuable first hand x-over point info, ----DO I MAKE YOU HORNY BABY?-Austin Powers

Wardsweb: Your site is OFF THE HOOK, MAN! , Do you build those speakers? I like the way you used the L94 in that one handbuilt jewel!

    yes

I will use one per pair and don't laugh at me but it will be in a 14'x12' room (I know) and my main amps are vintage Yamaha M80,250wpc, 52lb class A's , one per pair and I have an m35 pure class A that bridges to 70 super clean wpc and I'll have to buy a JBL 800hz x-over to run them.

Thanks, I enjoy DIY. The A7's are factory originals that I covered in walnut veneer. As for my custom JBL corner horns, I'm adding a 077 in the blank space below the L94 in each cabinet. The fun never ends.

Yeah, I love that kind of work too now that I can do it for myself. I've never done veneer, where did you get your stock from and how hard is it to work with.

    BTW, Great bookmatching!

I am always consulting friends and family with audio matters and always say the volume is like the gas peddle in your car, just because it can go 100mph, that doesn't mean you should. I promise to be VERY CAREFUL with these. All the OG wax seals are intact and I want them to stay that way!

    Hey Steve

Nice score!!! Those alnico 2440/41's are huge!!! I saw ELP use a maybe 2 pair of those. Think you got the midrange covered with those horns!!! I have always wanted a pair of those. Don't know what I would do with them but

    Hey Steve,

Those are darling drivers & horns.

I am sure you will get some very low distortion vocals out of those with your class A amps....

    Enjoy.

    Thank you Paragon & Ian

I've got them up and running now, I made some longer front legs out of 1.25" dowel and stole the feet off my old RT707 RR and used a couple of pieces of L19 enclosure that I had cut out to replace the totally destroyed front "kick plates" of my third pair of L220's that are in the process of restoration and screwed the back 2395 bracket to that, and the whole thing sits quite nicely on the two spacers I had to put on the L222's and L220's when I installed the L300 and 4333 midrange driver/horns, so, they are REALLY functional now! I took the midrange lead wires off the LE85 in my L222's and just ran them to the 375's. I will bet there is alot of room for improvement, but I'll tell you right now that those horns are AMAZING!!! to my ears. Now I'm beginning to hear for myself what all the fuss is about with the two inch drivers and I've just skimmed the surface. I can hardly wait to get it properly set up. Scott F gave me some great first hand X-over tips ( lucky me), so I can go straight to what I need. I just flat lucked out on these and I am humbled. I got to thinking about what the two pairs of 076's, LE14A&H1's, PR15c's,2420/2312's and these new horns and drivers are like? A little Olympus? Anyways, whatever they are simular to, it sounds GREAT and I love JBL even more. Mindblowing when you think that this engineering is 40-50-60-70+ years old! I have been told that these 2395/375 combos can sound harsh but they also can deliver a "quiet finesse" as I've witnessed tonight. Thank you for your encouraging words, they MEAN something to me. I'll put in a couple of shots of my setup at this point, Happy Holidays Sirs, Steve G.
