New project around the LE14A woofers

Hi, I´ve got a nice pair of LE14A woofers so I´m thinking to spend some time in a new project by using them

I would like to replicate a real speaker model that fitted them so no waste time because the crossover is already designed

What speaker models fitted them and what mid/tweeter would match better? I know the Lancer series but any with three ways?

    Kind Regards

I do not know about other constructions where LE 14A is used in 3 way setup.
Use the library on this page for more info.

Just seen the Dorian, Lancer, Flair........ series
The LE14A only appears in two ways configurations mostly

Which of them are the better sounding system?

    LE14 as basis for threeway

Apart from 4 way L250, I would consider N112 in a slightly larger box, maybe 60 or 70l, tuned mid thirties. That crossover is used for LE10 in L96 and 128H in L112 and L150, each near 14A's sensitivity, and the crossover includes variable attenuation for an LE5(even) and 044 (you may have this or 066). I tried this with good results, also with 104 and 035

    Le 14 two way

I am running LE14A in a four foot box tuned to 33Hz with a 3" port just short of 3" long - and on top a 2417 on 2342. The 2417 diaphragm, at its introduction, was nearly the thinnest titanium at the time giving it better HF extension.

20uF and 2.6mH on the bottom and the HF circuit with an added L-pad from L200t3.

Measures +/- 3dB across the spectrum and I've been listening to them for three weeks straight while my 4430s take a much-needed break. Nice

No one, myself included) would vouch for a mix and match combo, but I did measure, adjust values and ask questions to get these results

The wonderful LE14A was matched with LE 20 in L99 and LE 175DLH in 101, and those two ways were limited solutions for bandwidth. Later JBL mid/high transducer pairs coupled to 10 and 12" exhibited better performance in FR and smoothness. The crossovers of L96 and L112 illustrate the efficacy of bass matching, so it can be a good starting place for do it yourself system building. As to mix and match 2way, and similar to turnitdown's 2417 solution, why not use 14A with 2344 horn (with 2425h) and n3134 to emulate 4430?

Thanks for the suggestions, I built these big cabs based in the Audiokarma Econowave project and I prefer now go to a smaller proved design around the LE14A

To built something like the L220 or even better for the size the L65
What midrange would match with the LE14 and 2405h supertweeters?

    Which crossover should I replicate?

They used LE5-9 for that, but you could use 2118, 2123 et al. There may be efficiency differences to address.
