    Smile jbl D130

    Is the back cover of a jbl D130 come off so gauss can be measured? any help thanks jake

    Greetings Jake -

    The pot structure cannot come off unless you access it by way of re-coning. A Gauss measuring probe needs to be inserted directly in the V.C. gap. Meaning, no voice coil in the gap.

    Gauss testers can range from $150 to $1600. If you're concerned about the flux density of the magnet, just have the speaker re-gaussed. Bill Hanuschak at Great Plains Audio may be able to perform that task. I understand he is JBL qualified to re-cone JBL speakers.
