Do the numbers tell the story and can we find what the numbers match with?

I have a single 808-8A horn driver that has this number stenciled on the side 391104. Just wondering if this is an actual part number for the 808-8A driver or does it have some other significance?

Do we have a way of searching items with these stencil numbers if the actual tags are missing or painted over? I found a similar number on the painted over label of the 9844As I am rebuilding now. I could not save or read the tag but I could see the stencil number 391103 on the tag.

    Gary,

    That's not a part number .

It's a USA manufacturers code number ( 391 = Altec ) married to a day & month of manufacture ( no year > so it's wide open to interpretation ).

All in all ( IMO ), it's a pretty unimportant number ( once you know you have an Altec component on your hands ).
