Here in the USA I just go to the local hardware/home store and buy yellow fiberglas insulation and, if necessary, remove the paper backing and cut to the size needed. Always has looked exactly like what's already in the vintage cabinets.

Search for "Wrapon" or "Wrap on". They make a 1" non shedding fiberglass that is an exact match for the JBL material. Newer JBLs use the same material, but it is black or dark gray in color.

If you have to go through all that then get the correct material
Owens Corning 703 is what you need for deadening standing wave fights
Comes in different sizes and thicknesses
You can even buy it through amazon if you have to
Shop around many people on line selling it
General purpose hardware store glass is not the same material

You can also consider Roxul unless you have to have fiberglass
Lot of people selling their rockboard on line now too
    This is just an example
    Shop around
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01B1QS8XC?psc=1

It might be worth a phone call or email and a sample request if you only need a small amount of material for your project

The wool Mr.Widget point me on is the right wool (right material and thickness)
rock wool does not work good for speakers

Owens Corning 703 is what I suggested the Roxul product was only an alternative as for how difficult things may be for you to get

As for what works good that can be debated

The Roxul product actually tests out (measures) better than OC 703 OR 705

The material Mr. Widget recommended only comes in 50' rolls
    You use what you like
    Best of luck to you

    Fiberglass

It seems strange you can not buy fiber glass on cold Iceland.

Try to contact GLAVA. Perhaps they ship to Iceland or have a dealer there.

We only use rock wool for insulation
I might contact GLAVA and ask them for fiberglass wool

I got my last order of Wrap-on from B.E. Atlas in Chicago 800-305-4393. I believe Wrap-on prefers to deal through them for small orders.

I don't know if this will be easier for you to get, but Isover Soniroll Confort is the closest thing to what JBL currently uses that can be found in France.
It only comes in 16m2 rolls, and is pretty expensive...
