Bruce Howze of Community Light and Sound used to lament the destruction of the meat of the sound when chasing the top and bottom octave. That from a Pro Sound point of view but I still think it holds true today, at least in my house.

Having both 4430's and 4365's, even though the 4430's seem to dig deeper the 4365's eclipse them in every way.

At domestic levels the top end is pretty easy but down low, a great woofer paired with a great sub is still what gets it for me. The bass and mid bass of the 1501s is much cleaner than the 2235 and that I will gladly trade the sub bass for stellar bass and mid bass. The louder it gets the more apparent the clarity and lack of distortion are.

It would take active Everest's to beat a pair of 4365's and two Array1500 subs, or maybe M2's and subs.

    In my opinion.

If we knew what the hell we were doing, we wouldn't call it research would we.

Thanks Barry for your perspectives on these many different 15" woofers.
