Question L300 Grilles - Where to Buy NOS, Repro or Build?

    Hello Folks,
I need an assist with some L300s I'm looking at buying and restoring (new surrounds, etc.) and would like to find some grilles for them. Does anyone know of a source for repro. grilles for this model, or failing that, how to build some that look decent?
Thanks in advance for all your input!

I think he means the frames, not the cloth. I rebuilt one once that had some missing and damaged parts. Making a pair from scratch would be easy for a woodworker with average or above skills. Finding a used pair would probably be difficult.

    L-300 Reproduction Grilles

    Hi,
This is Steve from Huntley Audio.com.

No, I don't make the L-300 grille reproductions at this time.

    I have restored several pair.

They are a very nicely built frame, well suited for the speakers that wear them.

With so many unique parts and the two layered slanted fronts, they are a pretty complicated piece of engineering. Some where there are plans floating around on this site.

I would love to get in the L-300 grille reproduction business. I would love to see L-300's in all the old JBL colors, besides brown.

If I could get at least one, or even most of one frame, I would be able to make a very good reproduction. If anyone would like to partner up with me, I'm very generous and easy to work with - I could trade one old frame for two new pair in your choice of fabric color.

    Thank you
    SB
