Where does JBL recommend cross M2 to Sub18?
Where does JBL recommend cross M2 to Sub18?
I agree that the cabinet is not worth the price... But it made more sense to me in the given situation.
I am going to integrate them with the M2's (LCR) and cross over at 80hz. I have not seen any best practices from JBL regarding integration/crossover, but I follow the guidelines of ARCOS and their general configuration of Synthesis theaters. K2 S9900, Everest and all their other speakers are cross at 80hz to the S1S-EX's. I haven't heard that they would change this approach with the M2s.

It's alive
Slight modification to the 4645b boxes and it slipped in...
First impression is quite good, quite a bit more output in the lower region than 2242/2258 what I was looking for, BUT still not the VLF that I really was hopeing for even though the Box now is tuned to aprox 18hz. I might need bigger cabinets or maybe other woofers with lower FS
Maybe electronic compensation? This sub doesn't bother if you have the needed power amp... or add mass to the cone...
Cabinet is org tuned to 25 hz, now it's 18hz just to test it out. I've also tried boosting up With DSP but it doesn't give the result I was hopeing for.
What I compare too is my previous TC Sounds LMS 5400 which gave a lot more VLF than this do at the moment.
Simulations shows that it should work quite well but not 100% satsified right now.
What do you think of putting 2269 in a tapped horn?? I've no experince With this kind of Box but it might be fun... someone know how to simulate TH?
Does the sub18 come with specific DSP settings?
That would be a good start, after replicating the tuning and volume.
