You build up mass ring by your own?

Although the 2235 cone fits in an E140 frame, the combination is a long way from being a 2235. The E140 magnet is quite a lot bigger for starters, 7/8" thick compared to 3/4" for the 2235. 2225 frame with a 2235 cone kit is the best way to go. 2225's are cheap and the 2235 kits are still available new fro JBL.

I read that using a 51g mass ring in this configuration will settle the deal. You say that I did wrong using those baskets? Will I have an improvement is I would use real 2235's? Would the bass response differ?

    Thanks

Pretty hard to determine given you've used a different (spec. wise) basket and an aftermarket cone kit. The one thing that can be said with near certainty is that the speakers will not sound as JBL intended/designed.

If you're happy with it though, that's what counts.

    Cheers,
