    Is this a SM58 ?

    .
drug home this mic today. NO name/model band. no on/off switch
    and a 4 pin connector.
Google does not find any similar image .

If not a sm-58 , does anybody know what it is ?

Not an SM58 as far as I can tell. Mine don't have four pin connectors or that bulge at the connection point near the bottom. Also, they're darker.

Looks pretty much like an SM565D with no label.

Look for pics of "Shure Unisphere", it could be one of those.

    Allan.
From a little research, I think it is a SM565 , but not sure about the "D"
since that seems to be a 3 pin.

Maybe the D is for Dual-Impedance or possibly dynamic. Seems this microphone has some Woodstock heritage.

Looks like the four prong connection was meant to facilitate the 'dual-impedance' feature.
