This maybe of some interest, or not... SPL for K-horn Woofers

This is a chart I put together awhile back, to compare JBL drivers in K-horn enclosures. I've used the JBL 2225 with very decent results and smooth curve...Name: MVC-010F.jpg

Very interesting and needed info, there. People will be looking for these later and saying, " I knew I saw a graph somewhere. . . . "

I was just thinking the same thing. For that very reason, perhaps it would be worthwhile to change the title of the thread (so one may more easily be able to search for this information).

Certainly very helpful and thank you for your efforts.

Thank you gentlemen. I would change the title, but I am not sure how to do that, now that it is posted that way.

I added the graph title to the original title... because I could.

Can you tell us more about your measurement technique?

Thank you Mr. Widget... I used the McBean hornrsp program when I plotted these levels. It was years ago. I never set up instrumentation to run freq./SPL tests a 1w1m etc... For one thing, I didn't have all those woofers lying around. I have a few more of them now and a couple K-horn bins, but I have other aspirations right now. At one point, I was going to put 2 K-horn bass bins in each of two corners of my listening room, then my JBL L-300 just in front. Who knows, I still like the idea. I have always wanted to build a couple JBL 4520's for a special sentimental reason. Besides they have that unique drive that lulled (like a 2x4 to the skull) me into this addiction/love in 1975. It is how I have made my living all my life now. I ended up in the electronics audio tech./engineer arena later in my life and to this day.

Oh, and my current system speakers are the JBL 4350's...

    Cheers, Tom
