Elac newest flagship (Andrew Jones strikes back)

Andrew Jones, the guy who created the TAD Reference One in 2008 (TAD R1 vs 67000 in this thread: http://www.audioheritage.org/vbullet...-Reference-One), is now jumping in the ship of Elac.

Looks like it's sitting on a vinyl LP. Is that a stylized base, or something to show scale?
". . . as you have no doubt noticed, no one told the 4345 that it can't work correctly so it does anyway."—Greg Timbers

    The LF drivers are 10's

The striking oval shape, an imposing silhouette that is almost 1.70 meters high, and the gleaming surfaces combine to create a spectacular yet graceful and almost sculpted figure. The monolithic speaker cabinet weighing 140 kg rests on a 25-kg stand milled from a single block of aluminum.
Some kind of happiness is measured out in miles

The article does not mention Andrew however with the coincident driver clearly in evidence, I'm sure that this is an Andrew Jones design.

It's only a prototype, whatever it is
At least at the time of the 2015 shows
Way beyond the typical price points of ELAC speakers currently, a whole new direction for them

That would be a whole new direction in keeping with the work that Andrew did at KEF and then at TAD.

I guess he's moving up in the world from companies with three letter names to one with four.

Jones has been working for ELAC for more than a year now, doing essentially the same thing he was doing for Pioneer with his designs like the SP-BS22-LR and SP-FS52
Good performance out of cheap speakers

This ugly looking prototype thing is a move towards a new market or so it seems

The aluminum base is the part with the spikes/levelers. I still say that's a record it's sitting on . . . or a fabricated base made to look like a record. You can read on the label, "Copyright, All Tracks are . . . "

The speakers are not on real Lps, they are over sized theme oriented fanciful facsimiles:

Maybe ELAC's next project is a Miracord turntable to play 24-inch LPs?
