    I'm a little confused... LE14H choice in 250ti

I have tried to get some answers, but haven't gotten some. The thing is that I saw the threads considering the change of LE14H-1 into the more robust LE14H-3 woofer in 250ti-s. Everyone here in the forum knows the advanteges of changing the woofers, so I won't get into it here.... But am I the only one, who changed them!!?? Everyone here in the forum were so excited, telling GT: says do it and so on, It seemed like everyone changed the woofers in their 250 systems, so I thought this is my chance to get rid off cracked wooferfoam for ever!! I changed the woofers and am amazed over the killer Kappa bass, that has arrived in my living room!! I'm having trouble with closing the door, when playing at a substantial level.... But!! What has happened with the midrange and the tweeter!!?? They are screaming!! They're getting a very high signal, it feels like the whole system are on stereoids. What can I do? I like the overwhelming killer bass, when I invite kollegues to a demo, but the signature ti-sound is gone.... Thank god I still have the LE14H-1 woofers!! Should I be patient? Will the signature sound come back, after some weeks of playing? There must be someone her, in the forum, who changed the woofers like me. The threads back in 2007, were saying so, but now I'm not so sure! Even playing the King : Elvis - the midrange makes him sound like a crow..... Help, needed!! Primus

    Hi Primus.

Are you certain nothing else was changed? (i.e., the 108H units are still producing sound)

I'm trying to imagine what might cause what you've described. A slight change in driver sensitivity
(lower) might alter the spectral balance. This unit has attenuators for most of the drivers?
(buss bars or switches)... have you also tried them? (sorry if I've not kept up with your
    history with these).

the 14-3 has a different polarity from the older 14-1's. That might explain the difference you are hearing.
    Always fun learning more.......

Thanxs! JBL fellowers! All the drivers make sound, seems to get a higher signal. The amplifiers are not as warm, as they used to be, has the db level changed? I have the limited edition, so I only have the switches.....

Sounds like a polarity issue if bosomy bass and screechy midst and highs!

Sure? I am thinking the polarity was the same on my -1 and -3 but I am unable to confirm.

Polarity issue... Is that something, that will be constant? Or may it "level out?" The last hours, I have played, the midrange and the tweeter sounds more "normal" now, but still is a bit high.... But the bass!! Wow!! Killer Kappa bass!! I recently got the new 108h midrange from Harman, but I haven't dared to change them. Will there be a positive effect in changing them? Better? Worse? I wonder if I'll get them out.... The speakers are from 1990. When I changed the LE14H-1, nearly 2 months ago, I really fought, to get them out!! It felt like they were glued .

Polarity issue, means you need to change the cables going to the woofer.
    LE14H-3 is a positive transducer.

    Picture 2 shows not a 108H

Ups! You're right!! The picture shows 104H. Ok. So I have to change the original monster cables, what kind of cables would you recommend? I must take care then, not damaging the filter...

No, you swapped the cables that go to LE14H-3
Where ORN are now set ORN / BLK and vice versa
