    JBL 2441 substitute

Can I use a 2445/2446 as a substitute for the 2441 with as good as results as the Alnico?

Yes! You can use 2445/46 as well! But you should make sure that they get in when you make the build. They don't have the same dimensions. It is very tricky to slide the 2441 in. If I remember to have seen 2445, the diameter is wider than the 2441.
    No change on the crossover...

Sound quality wise? You won't hear the difference. We are too old for that! LOL!
You will be stunt Larry! Don't worry!
    Cheers!

PS: You can try to find 2440. Easier to find and more affordable!

I'm trying to get a nice pair, I found one 2440 but I hesitate to buy a single because you usually see them in pairs and if I get one I may not see a single for some time. I located some 2441's but his idea of "very nice" and mine are two different things. BTW listening to Pink Floyd turned WAY up and the Rolling Stones.

PF yes but not RS! just left Chick Corea downstairs...

If you can get 2441 would be the best! Patience is the key Larry!!! Hang in there!

Take a particular attention at the throat when you buy those... They can be broken... if so! They have been dropped!

    Cheers!

If you put large format compression drivers into a 4345 build you have to design the mid-bass dogbox to accommodate your driver. The only one that fits the stock configuration on a 2311 is the 2450. And it juuust makes it. 4313B used the 2445 (usually the cheapest to buy used). See his drawings.
