JBL N2500 crossover advice for 3 way system upgrade

Is the N2500 a good base crossover to make a 3 way system, I have a pair of C37's with the 030 system and was thinking of adding
a pair 175's to bring out the mids. I would add a N7000 or N3105 whichever I can get my hands on but is the N2500 a suitable base crossover
or would the N1200 be better suited in conjunction with the 7000/3105?

    thanks in advance

The latter; N1200. There is also a 3120 Pro version. Mike

    Thanks Mike,

I have another rookie question, the N1200 will need to be 16ohm if all the other components are 16 ohm?
If the crossover does not state 16Ohms should I assume it is 8 Ohms or will it make a big difference if I used 8 ohm crossovers with 16 ohm speakers?

    Thanks again

I guess my question is can you tell if a N1200 crossover is 8 ohm or 16 by the look of it or by the serial number?

    thanks

The short answer is no. Back in those days components were engineered to work as a system. The crossovers were not necessarily marked. For example, the N1200 was intended for bass drivers D130, D131 or 130A and high frequency drivers LE175 or LE85. There was a whole array of available crossovers for specific JBL speaker systems of the day. Today, all that stuff is hard-wired into the enclosure. So, you are in good shape with your intended plan - you've got the correct parts. Just wire it up. JBL did the engineering for you!

    Thanks again Mike,

I'll hook up the cabs with the 001 system to see how I like that better than the 003 and wait til I get my hands on a 7000 or 3105.

    Your knowledge is greatly appreciated..!

    3105 schematic

Here's the schematic if you want to DIY. Not too difficult. You definitely need the 075 tweeter to make that system sound its' best.
