Hello All,
I would like to get some opinions about using a Bryston 10B STD as the electronic crossover to replace the JBL/UREI 5235 as the active crossover(2235's/2202H) with the 4355's. The Bryston has 12 fixed crossover points for the(2) Hi and Lo pass slope controls. The closest crossover point on the 10B that matches the original JBL spec'd 290Hz is 300Hz. There is also a 250 Hz point. A 6, 12 or 18dB per octave slope can be selected for each filter. I am pretty sure that the 300 hz will work just fine and that with the flexibility of the 2 filters I think a flat response can be achieved. I know the 10B can be ordered with custom crossover points. And I assume units could be sent in for modification or possibly by the user but that would violate the extended warranty. I am using a modified JBL/UREI 5235 that sounds pretty good but I hear that the Bryston when set up properly is a very big improvement over the 30 year old 5235.
Any thoughts on this?
