Need help Identifying set of JBL Speakers

    Hi Guys!

After many years away from music and triggered by a find in a dump, around 100 vinyls, I have started to look for a vintage system and that is why I discovered JBL heritage. I was really impressed by a world unknown to me, some readings, some equipment seen on youtube ( Kenrick Sound videos), some pictures.
So I began my search and I have found a pair of JBL speakers that I could not identify. Far from being an expert, I've looked through JBL/Lansing catalogs online, images on google, pinterest, but no luck.
    Here the pictures,

After edited one picture I could read folowing code J1103-103821

The seller says that speakers were modified. No original tweeter and downgraded from 3-way to 2-way ( I can't see any modification). What I think is missing are the frequency controls.

    Any help will be welcome.

Could be 4408 with the L-pads and duct removed, a duct cut with a hole-saw, and tweeters replaced with non-JBL. Hard to tell with little sense of scale in the photos.

I think you are right, despite lack of scale in the picture, proportions seem to match. Is this a model worth restoring?
    Thank you!

The 4408, and similar models, are on eBay often enough that there's not much point in doing a full-on restoration of a pair.
Those 2 have virtually nothing original in them to work with.

In this vein, I'd personally go for the 3-way 4410 or 4412, or the A-versions of either of those.

Yep, lot more for the money, although they are larger so they take up more space.
