Which Taps to Use?

Hello,
Another novice question... My Apollos use the 001 system. All drivers rated 16 ohm. Together, they present 5.5 and 6.0 ohm DC resistance respectively. Cross overs are stock N1200s. Should I use the 8 or 4 ohm taps on my amp. I do not have a 16 ohm tap. Also, will changing speakers cause harm to an amp if done while powered up as there is a brief "no load" condition. Whenever I have done this to A/B it has been with no signal present and the volume turned all the way down. Thank you for your time.

No, they aren't stupid.

Use the 8 ohm tap.

Probably not in this particular instance since the conjugate will still manage to provide a small load without a transducer in parallel with it.

The "conjugate" of shared circuitry, or the fact that one speaker is still connected while one is disconnected to make the swap. This raises the question, do you put on a shoe and a sock and a shoe and a sock OR a sock and a sock THEN a shoe and a shoe? My inquiry with regards to "conjugate".
