Personally, I wouldn't know by looking at them, so thought I would pose the question here with photos.

Look right to me, the 2402 diaphragm in a 2404 makes a 2404H-1, used in the Cabaret series like the 4612.
I guess I didn't word that right.
What I meant was, are these aftermarket or OEM JBL diaphragms.
The sort of numerology seen above ( written on the diaphragms support ring, is classic JBL for the time period ) .
I really thought that Jeff was quite clear in his affirmation that the sample is OEM, JBL / you're not going to get anyone to give you a money-back guarantee ( beyond informed opinion ) !
OK, thanks guys.
Now that's cleared up.
I misunderstood your responses.
They are different. Running on memory!: the base diameter on the 2404-1 phase plug is about 1.600" and the 2404 is about 1.720". Something like that.
There s a thread started by Widget called "Ring Radiator Measurments" or differences that is like 13 bazzilian pages long that has just about everything one could possibly want or need to know about this family of super tweeters.
All the best,
Barry.
If we knew what the hell we were doing, we wouldn't call it research would we.
The big give away on the knock off JBL 2402, 2403, 2404, 2405 diaphragms I have seen is that the voice coil leads are at least twice as wide as the originals.
Don't forget the cone phase plug on the 2403/076 is yet another variation.
