    Contrast

Here's a fun contrast from the DJ systems, here's a do-what-you-can-with-what-you-got system, CBGBs from the late 80s. I never saw what was there 'cause it was so damn dark all the time, even though I ran this system quite a bit at this time. Took a friend taking a flash picture for me to see just what was hanging (I'm playing drums in this picture). It could sound very good, in the right hands. If I remember correctly, it was being maintained & run by Tommy Victor of the band Prong around this time, I could be wrong on that.

    biggest JBL's

here's a pic from my bar. ha ha! just kidding, I never keep that much full beer just lying around unrefrigerated. its the hard rock cafe in hawaii.

if the budweiser is 9" tall, that would make these woofers 45" dia !

ok, maybe they aint the biggest (theres only 2 of them that can be seen in the far left corner of the pic (looks like control series<?>)

I like the cables through the cones! Is that to keep them from over-excurson!

Bottom bins are Bertha with Levan extensions. They can literally twist your internals. One of my friends puked after spending a few minutes in front of a Bertha.

Cool! Saves an hour or so of binge drinking, not to mention the expense.

Ah, ah, ah. Berthas loaded with JBL 2242 can be brutal. And unlike with a bass reflex cabinet, those horns waste no energy. That's two 18" woofer per cabinet. and each cabinet is huge with the horn extension attached.

    Top cabinets

The top cabinets look like venue series VS 3218, or maybe the 15" version VS 3125. You can almost make out the horn in the middle and the dust on the grill would like up with the ports on the venue series.

They're definitely 18's so I presume they must be VS3218's. This is part of the Phazon system in the main room at Cream, Liverpool. The club has just closed on 26/12/2015 and the sound system is being ripped out as we speak! 😟

sad times the apartment building that replaced Cream/Nation has already started to take shape
I never went to a Cream event, I was only in there during the day. Those stacks were something else when you're the only one in front of them!

Where did the sound system end up? can't imagine theres many clubs open now that want to take all that stuff
