Is it still possible to buy the M2 horn and compression driver?

Thank you Mr Widget for those words

Now, I was thinking on how to mount the 1501 speaker. Its a heavy weight one and havnt figured out how to drop it in place.
Its approx 10-12 kg heavier than the 2216.
Maybe I should wait to mount the WG so I can back it up from the inside. Is there any smart solutions for this step?

They are a real pain to deal with because of the weight and since the weight is so far behind the front of the basket. There are threads inside the mounting holes that are there to help you wrangle the woofers when you are installing them. I made a simple threaded T shaped tool to help dealing with them.

    Hello Flodstroem

They sure do look nice! That oil really brings out the grain!

On mine, two of the holes in the woofer frame are threaded. You can put in screws into the frame to help with handling. It's a nice little feature.

Wow, is that true? Any idea what threads they have, 1/4" ?

Is it true? No, I just made it up...

I don't remember the tread size/pitch, but it is a common SAE thread. The threaded mounting holes are opposing each other, i.e. top and bottom if you orient the woofers as I did. The factory put the treads there for their own assembly procedures, but I found them very helpful for my installation too.

I'll check the mounting hole diameter and see if there's a suitable metric thread that I could cut into a pair of holes in each transducer .

    Best regards!

Thanks all of you for the valuable hint. Yes, I can confirm that this is the case. I have checked the thread is 1/4" x 20 as mention here. Fantastic, mounting problem solved.

Very cool ! Are these metric M6 threads or M8? Or are they no metric threads at all?

    Best regards!

The threads are UNC, 1/4" x 20 treads per inch.
