It’s amazing what a good classical education will do.

    Long Time

Hey it's been a long time since we mentioned this thread.

I have a brain injury. I don't create new memories (maybe why I recall this). Have 3 siezures every hour - every day. I form zero new memories and will do for the rest of my life.I effectively have dementia at 55.

I just want Greg to know that his work stops me ending it. Special. A special talent when it came to crossover design and therefore, the illusion of real music to make my day.

My wife says thanks. As do I.

I just found out, 5 years later

Had to come to this forum and just say thank you Greg.

My home is full of the products you helped create, that my whole family use daily, year after year.

You brought happiness to so many people.

When I present my Array 1400īs I say "designed by famous Greg Timbers!"

Before those I had Studio S312's, before those S38īs, now I also have several sets of studio monitors from JBL.

What in the world did JBL and Harman think of?

Well, who cares what they were thinking, your legacy is set.

You should relax and take pride in everything you did.

There are thousands and thousands of happy people around the world enjoying JBLīs, thanks to you.

James B Lansing, Greg Timbers... Kudos!

As a toddler, I grew up around JBL L112’s. Now, my own toddler gets to enjoy the 4319. I actually have one of the few 4319’s that were made in the USA. (2010 production).

If @gtimbers ever gets bored in retirement, it would be wonderful to hear design stories about the speakers he designed that didn’t ultimate become legendary for one reason or another.

One of the characteristics of many of Greg Timbers’s speakers is that they seem to avoid intermodulation distortion. Using the La La Land Soundtrack, “Another Day of Sun” as a demo, so many high end systems struggle to maintain clarity during the chorus at the 1 minute mark. The louder you play it, the tougher it gets to understand (rather than easier).
