Makes sense.Although I lack precision instruments, I took a look at the Altec 902-8B.
The 'exit angle' is 6 degrees measured with a protractor.

about 6 deg, and as I know such angle is usually 5 ~ 7 degs,
so can be applied to the long throat horns that can be used, say, from 500Hz and up.
Today, fast 'flaring horn' usually apply a kind of hyperbolic (OSWG, Spherical WG) horn wall flare so can be
connected to almost flat wave front at the driver mouth (exit). Such horn, usually does not 'satisfy' exponential
cross-section surface expansion along the horn axis, but as can be seen on M2 (or PT-H95) there is possibility
to better control surface cross-section surface expansion along the horn axis, applying more complicated shape
of the surface cross-section.
