D2 DYI: good idea or foolish?

    Hi All,

Has someone ever thought about a DIY M2?
HF section is "quite" affordable (compared to the M2 price) and furthermore, available.
The 2216Nd should be available at the same reconer office. Don't know it's price.

As this M2 seems to be an excellent studio/audiophile loudspeaker, but rather expensive, making a DIY one seems interesting. Digitally bi-amped with EQ concept.

What do you think about it?

Hi Bruno , you probably already read some of this thread

    http://www.audioheritage.org/vbullet...erence-Monitor

in which the most recent posts are the beginnings of DIY projects.

This comes about as a consequence of the D2 and the waveguide becoming available , as you have noticed.
Forum member POS is in France and bought parts from Reconing Speakers and recieved them into France without any problems.

The big trick is getting to grips with the DSP , plenty of initial info in that regard also.

All the corrections for the M2 system are posted in the thread somewhere.

I say go for it. Bon chance M

    Thank you Macaroonie.
It seems DIYing it could lowered the price to about the third compared to the final product (7700$/p best price here in France)
And I have already DSP and amplifiers, and audio measurements facilities to Eq'ing it.

A remark, a M2 enclosure is just made with MDF (economical) - I thing doing it in Finland birch plywood should be better.

Do someone know where to hear those M2 in France, Europe?

    Thanks in advance,

    Regards

    Bruno

Thank you very much POS! c'est toujours un plaisir
It's the far North-East for me but probably a very good sound experience.
