    "sk2-1000" diy

I just got some DIY "SK2-1000", consist of 2435 With aquaplas, PT-H1010 horn and 2x2251J-1 10" woofers. Planning to use them from aprox 80hz->

I've no crossover yet since they have no passive crossover.

Any sugestions regarding crossover for this combo? And have anyone else used 2435 With PT-H1010 or 2251 and have some EQ advice??

Are M2 horn very much better than PT-H1010??

Baldrick I could be wrong but I think your 2251's are standard , the SK box used modified versions called 251J or similar , Butyl rubber surrounds and as I recall some mass loading also.

I can't offer any advice regarding tuning or x/o.

BUT , ah ha pic of the 3 way system x/o

Thank you!! Maybe I can use the org filter even though I have not the exact same Components?

I know my woofers are a different version, mine are used as mid in i.e. 4338. But as far as I've understood they are "pretty close" so hopefully they will work OK. I haven't tried them yet so I've no idea if there are any output Down to 80hz or if they need to be crossed higher.

Nice project! Have you thought about going with an active crossover? It would be pretty simple to setup and tune in.

I would prefer an passive solution, but I use active today on my 2226/2447BE.

It's not that easy to setup an good active setup, at least I don't think it is, that's why I would love some input before starting... otherwise I do it myself. But the lack of knowledge about this is one reason for wanting to try something else than my current setup.

Might have a look at what at least two experienced users here
have done with their PT-H1010 horns re crossover/EQ... as a start.
