    Scary looking! But they are actually very good sounding speakers and look decent in their usual wood guise. They probably would have sold better if they didn't come with the Sony label on them. The same problem JBL has. If you make gobs of money selling cheap stuff it hurts your ability to effectively market higher end stuff.

    On that subject I read the article Don posted, http://www.reed-electronics.com/tmwo.../CA475937.html and found it most interesting. Based on what was said I would think that more of us would be raving about JBL's inexpensive offerings. Two things come to mind. Either the cheap look of the speakers poisons our listening experience so much that we can't appreciate the hard work that JBL has put into their low end speakers, or perhaps there is more to it than their tests are revealing. Or maybe a third option, they are blowing smoke in our faces.
