    I'm still shaking

Guys, I just had one of those mornings.

Woke up, had some breakfast, checked the news on the computer, figured I'd search craigslist for "JBL".

I see this ad, 4345s, with some McIntosh gear, "Make offer".n So I contact the gentleman, tell him I'm a JBL enthusiast (not an eBay flipper) and would love to have those speakers.

$3000 bucks later, here I am. A pair of 4345s and a McIntosh C32, MC 2205 and MC 2105. The 4345s need refoaming, but the cabinets are mint, except for a few stains which could be easily sanded/oiled out (I have the grilles and lenses in my truck, just not in the picture). The C32 Preamp is mint, the MC 2205 has cracked glass unfortunately, and the MC 2105 is mint (including the cabinet).

If we knew what the hell we were doing, we wouldn't call it research would we.

The timing is crazy. We just bought a house yesterday, we close at the end of August.

I'll probably just let these sit for awhile. I want to take it slow and make sure everything is A-OK (especially with the amps). Long story short the seller's father in law was a music professor from Japan and this was all his gear. I actually didn't get to try them out, I took his word that they worked. I figured even if a few of the drivers were duds it would still be worth it, especially since I'm not trying to sell them anyways.

I think in the future I'm going to take all of my McIntosh gear to a local authorized service center and have them go through each piece to just give them clean bills of health.

    Greg

Also, what blows my mind is these were on CL for 19 hours. How is that possible? I guess banks are closed on Sundays, but still. That's crazy. Maybe people were really low balling him since it just said "make offer"?

I'll post more pictures tonight after work. Then I can evaluate everything a little more closely.

Nice score, welcome to the 4345 club. It will take a few dollars to get them up to snuff, but I can't think of a better investment.

    Great Score!

I'm not a McIntosh expert, but I've heard Mac will check them out and make them perfect again if you send them in. Not sure about the cost. I hear they'll even replace the front glass panels with perfectly matching new ones.

    Enjoy your find!

    Good Morning, Greg,

WOW!! What a fantastic find!! I'm not one who believes in "luck", but rather than that you were meant to find this awesome treasure trove of JBL/Mac goodies!! Well done, and hearty congratulations, Sir!!! I look forward to seeing it all up and running, when you have time to make it so!! Have fun, and God Bless!

Oh man, are you in for some fun now!!!

Congratulations on the CL purchase . . . and the house. Wow!
". . . as you have no doubt noticed, no one told the 4345 that it can't work correctly so it does anyway."—Greg Timbers
