    upgrade television internal speakers

Its been suggested, ( hello by the way ) I use a phantom center in my audio stereo / ht build,
Wanted to heck, if anyone has done a internal tv driver upgrade.
Is this a mod worth the effort.
    Thanks
    brian.

Why bother? A tiny speaker in a bad plastic cabinet?
Put a nice speaker below the TV and shut off the internal cheesey speakers

    +1

Replacing the stock speakers is pointless as you will have to:

    a) Match the impedance
    b) Most TV's use strong DSP processing to get the most out of those $.50 units.

When there's budget stuff like this available:

tweaking tv speakers would be a complete waste of energy and time.

(association? No. Heard them? Yes... I'm sure there are other such options)

Sell your TV and buy a better one. ;-)

For a while, I had a RCA TV with speaker terminals on the back, and a switch to disable the internal speakers. I hooked up a pair of small infinity speakers, 6.5 inch two ways. The improved speakers were a big distraction, with the bass too much compared to the voices. Whenever a commercial would come on, it would make way too much sound. Fortunately the TV also had a three band EQ in it's settings, so I was able to turn the bass and treble way down to make it sound more like a typical TV. My new TV doesn't have speaker outputs, I don't miss them much.

Use the external audio, the factory speakers were not made for fidelity. Or use headphones.

"Tweeking" TV speakers is pretty pointless - use speakers that were designed for sound performance, not designed for minimal cost.
