Those 2269 drivers are pretty impressive. I've seen one in person and it is really a very impressive driver.
"Who needed a big-ass JBL sub?"
Most of us on this forum need (at least) one. Whether we could afford it or have the space for it is another thing.
3.5" excursion! That'll blow your skirt up.
I'd even wear a skirt (umm...kilt) just to test it!...if I could keep the test unit.
I saw these the other day and got excited, but then I wonder what the price point will be given the ASB7128 is $5.2k and that also contains a pair of 2269's.
The same box for the 4642a with 2241's is $2k. Interestingly the 5749, same box again but with 2242's is $2.2k - very small premium for the better driver.
So now I wonder what the 5628 is going to run to. If they put it around $3.5k it would be the cheapest() way to get the 2269's since they won't let you buy them individually.
I'm gonna have to wait until my kids are a bit older. It will hurt them.
I control the treble.
I control the bass.
Whoo hooo, 4kW power, 16kW peak
Though I think that you'd be happier with this one, for home use:

Hi, Martin, and All,
WOW!! That old "obsolete" sub, with two 2245H drivers, looks very interesting, indeed!! I'm guessing around 18 ft3 for the internal cabinet volume! That would be a really big, but really fantastic subwoofer for home use, I'm thinking!! Hide it somewhere, and cross it love enough, and VOILA, there you have it!! Gives me the shivers, just thinking about the possibilities!! Thanks for sharing, and God Bless!

Very nice , now just gotta wait until the 2269 price lowers. I have a couple of these work good for the theater. - https://www.jblpro.com/pub/obsolete/4845.pdf
Am I the only (slightly silly, I admit to that) person on this forum to have actually bought one of these monsters? Next to our JBL 5774 it does not even look that imposing.
2242s and 2245s for sale now, there is no contest, this 2269-equipped bastard one is infinitely better
